A real music nerd does not need to be introduced to the Sleaford Mods. I never hit it off with their sound. However, when I listened to their new album Spare Ribs, one track grabbed my attention: Thick Ear.
What an ecstatic experience: The unapologetic pumping beat, a Joy Division-styled guitar in the background, and, to top it all off, the aggressive spoken-word rap in the broadest East Midlands’ dialect! No everybody’s cup of tea, I guess.
